Sakan Counseling Centre ("Sakan", "we", "us") provides faith-rooted counselling and related support services, primarily online, to individuals, couples, families, and youth in Quebec. This policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose personal information gathered through our website, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

2. What We Collect

Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:

• Booking information you provide: your email address, the type of support you are requesting, your preferred counsellor, and your preferred contact method. We deliberately do not require your full legal name to submit a booking — you are identified by a ticket number.
• Ticket-status lookups: the ticket number you enter to check your request status.
• Contact-form or email correspondence you send us directly.

We do not currently use any analytics or visitor-tracking tool beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the site.

3. Why We Collect It

• To respond to your booking request and connect you with an appropriate counsellor.
• To send you confirmation and status updates about your request.
• To respond to questions you send us directly.
• To maintain the security and proper functioning of our website.

4. Consent

By submitting the booking form or contacting us, you consent to the collection and use of your information for the purposes described above. If you become a client of Sakan's counselling services, additional and more specific consent is obtained separately before your first session.

5. How We Protect Your Information

We apply security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved, including restricted access to our systems, secure transmission, and vetting of our service providers.

6. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following service providers, strictly to operate our services:

• Zoho — for email correspondence and ticket/case tracking.
• Doxy.me — for secure video counselling sessions, if you become a client.

Some of these providers may process or store information outside Quebec. Where that is the case, we take steps to be satisfied the information receives protection equivalent to what the law requires.

7. How Long We Keep It

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law, after which it is securely destroyed or anonymized.

8. Your Rights

Under the law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request that we cease disseminating certain information, in specific circumstances provided by law.
• Receive certain computerized personal information in a structured, portable format.
• Withdraw consent, where consent is the basis for our use of your information.

9. Children and Our Website

Our general website is intended for adults seeking information about our services. Where a young person becomes a client of our counselling services directly, their information is handled under a tailored consent form that reflects Quebec's specific rules on minors' consent to care.
